The STM32F405xx and STM32F407xx series are based on high-performance ARM Cortex-M4 32-bit RISC cores, operating at frequencies up to 168 MHz. The Cortex-M4 kernel has floating-point unit (FPU) single precision and supports all ARM single precision data processing instructions and data types. It also implements a complete set of DSP instructions and memory protection units (MPUs), thereby enhancing application security. The STM32F405xx and STM32F407xx series integrate high-speed embedded memory (up to 1 MB of flash memory, up to 192 KB of SRAM), up to 4 KB of backup SRAM, as well as various enhanced I/O and peripherals connected to two APB buses, three AHB buses, and a 32-bit multi AHB bus matrix. All devices provide 3 12 bit ADCs, 2 DACs, 1 low-power RTC, 12 universal 16 bit timers (including 2 PWM timers for motor control), and 2 universal 32-bit timers. True Random Number Generator (RNG). They also have standard and advanced communication interfaces.
