Toshiba Electronics and Storage Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") announced today the launch of a 3-phase DC brushless motor controlled pre drive IC - "TC78B011FTG", which is suitable for high-speed motors used in server fans and blowers, as well as vacuum motors used in cordless vacuum cleaners and sweeping robots. The product will start supporting bulk shipping today.
TC78B011FTG adopts a sine wave drive method without Hall sensor control. This helps to reduce vibration and noise. In addition, the built-in closed-loop speed control function allows users to program detailed speed curves into the non-volatile memory (NVM) of the IC, eliminating the need for an external MCU to suppress speed fluctuations caused by power supply voltage or load fluctuations.
At the same time, Toshiba also mass produces TC78B009FTG using a square wave drive method without Hall sensor control. Users can choose the appropriate product according to their own motor drive method.
