The global chip market has maintained rapid development in the past three decades, with an average annual growth rate of nearly 10%, and the global market size will be about 560 billion US dollars in 2021. The IC industry's direct proportion in the global economy is not high, accounting for about 0.5% of global GDP, but its impact on the economy is much greater. However, in 2022, China's IC production accounted for 16.7 percent of its $186.5 billion IC market, up 4.5 percentage points year-on-year to 21.2 percent. This growth trend is expected to continue, reaching 21.2 percent by 2026. Globally, companies from the United States and Taiwan province dominate the chip design industry. With the gradual recovery of the terminal market, AI chips are in short supply, and it is expected that the semiconductor market sales will show a growth trend in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 20%. In addition, advanced driver assistance systems and automotive infotainment systems will also drive the automotive semiconductor market. Automotive and industrial are two downstream application areas to watch. The share of chip consumption in the automotive industry increased from 4.7% in 1998 to 12.4% in 2021.
